Orans are icons of people praying in an archaic prayer position. They are found in early Christian catacombs and depict early Christians praying. The word “orans” is a form of the Latin verb to pray, “orare”! I think they’re interesting since they’re somewhat forgotten… There are a ton of other Early-Christian symbols that modern Christians don’t see too often!
