Barbarians

The term “barbarian” was originally meant by the Greeks to mean foreigners. They thought non-Greek speaking people sounded like they were saying “bar-bar-bar” analogous to “blah-blah-blah” today! The Romans also used the term for people outside their empire too. The name Barbra meant a barbarian woman and was probably insulting!
