The Nebra sky Disc is an artifact from the bronze age. It’s significance is that it is the oldest star-chart known. It has stars and a sun and moon on it. One group of stars are thought to be the Pleiades star cluster. Many civilizations recognize it as being significant in their calender. It was thought to be a hoax for a while, but is thought to be authentic now. It was rescued from the black market for antiquities, so it’s exact archaeological context isn’t known. It is theorized that it was used to tell an agricultural event, when the moon and Pleiades star cluster had the same orientation as on the disc. It may have even been a set, one for fall and one for spring with different patterns. The Nebra sky Disc may have been the fall one.
