Armistice Day

Today on the 11th hour of the 11th day in the 11 month, WW1 ended. The armistice was declared then which ended WW1. The Treaty of Versailles wasn’t signed yet, that took until 1919, as negotiations for it were long.  In 1918, it will be the 100th anniversary of when WW1 ended. Now, it is the 100th anniversary of when it started. Today is currently known at Veterans Day. Originally, it was Armistice Day to honor the people who fought in WW1, but after other wars like WW2, they changed it to Veterans Day to remember all soldiers who served in wars the US was in. WW1 was “the war to end all wars”, but when it spawned WW2, commemorating veterans from war needed a wider scope than just Armistice Day. Many current conflicts around the world today were originally spawned from WW1. Many say that WW1 was the war to start all wars!
